Thomas Binetter

Thomas Binetter helps families navigate the legal side of loss, whether that means resolving a contested will, fixing a flawed trust, or making sure a loved one’s wishes are actually honored. His work centers on wills, trusts, and estate litigation, with a focus on preventing the kind of legal messes that can tear families apart.

Thomas brings a global lens to his practice, having trained and practiced law in both Australia and California. His interest in elder law is more than professional; it’s personal, shaped by seeing firsthand how poorly written estate documents can leave families vulnerable when they’re already grieving.

Before zeroing in on probate and trust work, Thomas handled a wide mix of legal matters, from trust disputes and real estate litigation to commercial lease negotiations. He’s worked with respected firms including Breene & Breene, Hollander & Hollander, and Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell.

He earned his J.D. from the University of New South Wales, along with degrees in Commerce (First Class Honors) and Arts from the University of Sydney. Thomas is admitted to practice in California, New South Wales, and before the High Court of Australia.

Outside of law, Thomas is a lifelong musician and founding guitarist of the Grammy-nominated post-rock band Sleepmakeswaves. When he’s not working or recording, he’s probably on a plane, chasing down his next travel milestone (he’s hit 39 countries so far) or scouting out a rare bottle of whisky to add to the collection.
